I took many photos to use as reference in my project.
I drew this boat using alcohol markers to experiment the use of a different medium and used a photo of a boat I took as reference
I really like the vibrant colours in animals such as jellyfish and frogs which makes them standout to their surroundings, therefore i made three paintings experimenting with mediums and highlights of the vibrant colours.
mediums used are Acrylics, Inks and water colour.
Here I made two observational drawing experimenting with water colour and fine liners.  the shadow was drawn using cross hatching and hatching to separate the shell from its shadow. I used shells found on the beach as reference.
Serge Alain Nitegeka reference
Bridget Riley, born early 1900's, is an English painter known for her optical art paintings. when I First saw her work I really liked her abstract work and use of colour.
digital drawing of a whale done in photoshop

stage 1: I drew a whale using fine liners on A4 paper and copied the drawing onto Photoshop

stage 2: on photoshop I added the colours and dark+light parts of the drawing.
then added a layer covering the whale made of small fish drawing that I made, this was to give contrasting effect of small and Big animals.

stage 3: at the end I experimented with a background made of many colours inspired by Bridget Riley to contrast the drawing in the foreground.

Using photos from Newhaven harbor and reference from Serge Alain Nitegeka and Bridget Riley I made 2 drawing using alcohol markers.
I really like the geometric shapes that Serge Alain Nitegeka uses in his work and that's why I added it to my work, I also like the wide variety of colours that Bridget Riley uses and therefore I experimented with that to contrast the black and white only drawing.
Using Gel pens I drew star fish and coral plants, I chose starfish because they have  a lot of details on them, i also made an abstract ink background filled with colours to contrast the white only starfish drawing.
Here i used photoshop to make 2 composites of the starfish.
For the top one i made a black background and used the ink background to bring out the starfish and coral plants with colour which also creates a contrast with the background.
For the bottom one i changed the colour of the starfish to create variation, i also added more vibrant colours in the background to create an interesting effect with the overlapping colours.
